Take payments online when the booking is made

You can take payment online at the moment somebody books, or when they accept a quote, and the money goes directly into your own payment account. We never hold it and never take a cut of it.

The reason to bother is not convenience. It is that a customer who has paid turns up, and a customer who has merely promised sometimes does not. Paid bookings quietly fix the most expensive gap in a service week.

Paying at the moment of booking

From Plus, at £149 a month, the customer chooses a service, picks a time and pays before confirming. They pay by card or the payment methods common in your market, on your own site rather than being sent elsewhere.

A massage therapist can take the full price for a sixty-minute treatment, or a deposit that holds the slot. Either one changes the conversation about a missed appointment from an argument into an already-settled fact.

Quotes your customer can accept and pay

On Pro, at £199 a month, you can send a quote with itemised cost lines and a public page where the customer accepts it. From that same page they can pay straight away.

That suits work you have to price first. A driving school selling a block of ten lessons, or a gardener quoting for a full clearance, can turn an accepted quote into money received without an invoice chase in between.

The money goes to your own account

Payments run through your own Stripe account, which you connect once. Payouts, statements and fees are between you and them, and the funds never pass through us.

That also means the customer relationship stays yours. There is no marketplace taking a percentage of a regular who was always going to book you, and no waiting for a platform to decide when to release your own takings.

Where it runs, and what is looked after

All of this sits on the managed hosting included in every plan. We run and monitor the servers, apply updates and close security holes, and the HTTPS certificate is issued and renewed automatically, which matters when money is involved.

Backups are taken nightly and the restore is tested nightly, so your bookings and customer records are not resting on a copy nobody has ever opened. You install nothing and patch nothing.

When taking payment up front is the wrong move

Some trades would lose work by asking. If your customers expect to meet you, see the job and settle afterwards, demanding a card at the enquiry stage reads as distrust and they will ring someone else.

There is a middle route: a small deposit for the slot rather than the whole amount. And if none of that fits your trade, take bookings without payment and keep invoicing the way you always have.

Paying afterwards against paying at booking

The same job, with the money arriving at two different moments.

The gap between doing the work and being paid for it is where small firms lose money.

Online payments: what businesses ask

Plus at £149 a month adds payment at the time of booking. Pro at £199 adds quotes with an acceptance page the customer can pay from directly.

No. Payments go through your own Stripe account, so your provider's fees are between you and them. We charge the subscription and nothing on top of your takings.

On your payment provider's normal payout schedule, straight to your business account. The funds never sit with us, so there is nothing waiting on our side to be released.

Yes. You can charge the whole amount or a part of it to hold the slot, which suits trades where the final price depends on what you find when you arrive.

It runs on managed hosting with HTTPS issued and renewed automatically, and updates and patching handled by us. Backups run nightly and the restore is tested nightly.

Your Stripe account is yours and stays exactly as it is, since it was never ours. The site runs to the end of the paid period, and your customer and booking records can be exported first.
