Not one of these is a busy problem. They all come from the same thing: the work needs both hands, complete stillness and no interruptions.
Two hours with the phone on silent
A full set is two hours with your hands a few inches from somebody's closed eyes. You cannot answer, you cannot type and you cannot really even look across the room. By the time she sits up there are two missed calls and a message from somebody who wanted Thursday, sent an hour and a half ago, and Thursday is the kind of thing people ask three of you about at once.
A refill booked in as a full set
She wrote asking for an appointment and you put her where there was room. She meant a two week refill, which is forty minutes, and you have held two hours open for her. Those two hours were the slot the person who wanted a full set could not have. Nobody did anything wrong. The message simply did not say.
Admin at half past nine at night
There is no reception, nobody on the desk, nobody else at all. So the replying, the moving, the reminding and the writing back all happen after the last client, sat on the sofa with the phone propped against your knee. It is an unpaid hour every day of the week and it is the hour nobody ever planned for.
The four that make a difference on your own
Everything else in the product is there too. These are the ones that matter when you are the only person in the room.
The slot is as long as the treatment is
A full set, a two week refill and a four week refill are three services with three different lengths, and she picks which one she needs before she picks a time. What she is shown is what is genuinely open after the appointment before hers, including the minutes you need to clean down and set the room up again.
A price list that says what a refill is
Every line carries a pricing type of its own: set prices where the price is set, a from-price where the amount of work depends on what she walks in with, such as taking off somebody else's set. Written down once on the page, it stops being four messages every single time.
Nobody has to reach you to change a time
Each booking carries a personal link that lets her move it or cancel it herself. That is the whole of it, and it means the one thing your clients cannot do while you are working, which is get hold of you, is also the one thing they no longer need to do.
The confirmation and the reminder send themselves
She gets a confirmation as she books, with the service, the length and the address on it, and a reminder before the day itself. Neither one is written by you at half past nine at night. E-mail sending is part of every plan, and SMS can be topped up as prepaid credit.
How the list can be laid out
Your names, your amounts. The thing worth getting right is that each service holds its own length, because the length is where all the trouble comes from.
Services can be grouped, classic, volume and extras, and each group can carry prices of its own.
What lash techs want to know
The builder makes a first version from a description of what you do, and after that you change it on the page itself by clicking a pencil beside whatever is wrong. Nobody else has to be involved at any point.
Yes. Each service can be limited to the hours it fits into, so a two hour appointment is only offered while there are still two hours left in your day.
Build it into the length of the service. If a full set is two hours of work and fifteen minutes of turning the room round, the service is two hours and fifteen minutes, and nothing can be booked into it.
The slot returns to the diary the moment she cancels through her own link, and it is visible to anybody looking that evening. You do not have to be awake for any part of that.
It is a page you do not own, with no booking on it. Moving means a site of your own carrying the services, the lengths and the prices, and anything you have on the web already can be imported rather than retyped.
