Create a website by describing your business

To create a website here you write two sentences about what you do, or paste the address of your existing site. The pages, the service menu with prices, the opening hours, the FAQ and the booking are written out from that, and you edit whatever you disagree with.

Most people are looking at a real site within the hour and publishing the same day. The slow part is not the building. It is deciding what your prices should be.

Start with two sentences or an old address

Something like: I run a gardening service in the south of the county, mostly hedge cutting, lawn care and clearance, weekdays and Saturday mornings. That is enough to get a first draft of the whole site.

If you already have a site, paste its address instead. Your existing text is read in and used as the starting point, so the paragraphs you sweated over three years ago are not thrown away.

What to have to hand before you start

Your list of services and what you charge for them. Your opening hours, including the ones you actually keep rather than the ones you meant to. A phone number and an email address. A logo if you have one, and a handful of photographs of real work.

None of it is compulsory to begin. You can start with the services alone and add the rest as you go, since everything on the site stays editable afterwards.

Reviewing and changing what it wrote

This is where you earn the site. Read it as a customer would and change anything that is not true or not you. Every piece of text has a pencil beside it: click, type, save.

A hair salon might merge two services into one, drop a treatment they no longer offer and rewrite the paragraph about the walk-in policy. Ten minutes of that turns a decent draft into your actual business.

Publishing, your domain, and what runs it afterwards

Publishing is a button. Connecting your own domain means adding a couple of DNS records, and we recognise most providers and show you exactly which lines to enter. The domain and your email stay yours throughout.

After that, managed hosting takes over and stays out of your way. We run and monitor the servers, apply updates and close security holes. HTTPS certificates renew automatically, backups are taken nightly and the restore is tested nightly so the copies are known to work.

When making it yourself is the wrong call

If you genuinely hate writing and every sentence about your own work makes you cringe, a copywriter for an afternoon is money well spent. The draft gives them a structure to work from, but somebody still has to decide what you sound like.

And if your business needs a booking flow with unusual rules, or a design that must match an existing brand exactly, an agency build will fit better than a platform will.

Building it yourself, two ways

The same afternoon, spent differently.

The hard part of making a website was never the making.

Creating your website: what people ask

An hour to have something real on screen and often the same day to publish. Connecting a domain adds a short wait while DNS updates, which is out of anyone's hands.

No. A full draft is written from your description or your old site, and you edit what you want changed. Most people rewrite a few paragraphs and leave the rest.

You can publish without either and add them later. Photographs of your own work help more than stock images do, so it is worth taking a few on your phone when you next finish a job.

From Lite at £49 a month up to Pro at £199, and the first 14 days are free without a card. Yearly payment takes 20% off and prices are quoted excluding VAT.

No. Managed hosting is part of every plan, so there is no server to buy or configure. Certificates renew on their own and nightly backups are taken with the restore tested each night.

As often as you like, from a phone if you want. The pencil next to any text opens it for editing, and changes go live when you save.
